Beginning December 1st through December 4th, The Joy of Cookies, Cookie Tour (lvpgh.com/cookietour) brings small businesses from across the Lawrenceville neighborhood together opening their doors for the holiday shopping season by offering free sample sized cookies to excited shoppers. This free and family oriented event marks its cookie stops using numbered gingerbread people signs outside each participating store. Take a Break Stops are numbered with little red stop signs, marking a location where cookie tour goers can pause to re-caffeinate, enjoy a cookie flavored beer, or grab some lunch. From 55th Street to 34th Street there is something for everyone to enjoy and treats all along the way.
The Thursday of the tour at 6PM is Light Up Lawrenceville where Lawrenceville United celebrates the holiday season with an annual tree lighting and shares treats and carols with attendees. LU is also behind the Cookie Mall on Saturday from 10AM until 2PM at The Boys and Girls Club (4600 Butler Street) with special appearance by Santa Claus and free samples of Snappers (a chocolate dessert cluster) for visitors.
The tour is in it’s 17th season showcasing all that Lawrenceville has to offer with each location along the tour decking the halls with holiday cheer.
